Kristin Fischer will join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As a Space and Defense Correspondent Kristin Fisher is a reporter covering all aspects of space starting from NASA to the newly formed Space Force as well as commercial space businesses and space tourism. Kristin was born into the field of space as the granddaughter and daughter of NASA astronauts. For the last five years she's covered space policies under Biden and Trump Administrations for FOX News. In addition to covering two presidential impeachment cases as well as the 2020 Presidential Campaign as well as both administrations' efforts to limit the outbreak of coronavirus, Kristin covered a lot of other things. She also was on numerous trips with president and vice president as well as a secret visit to Afghanistan along with the then-President Donald Trump. Before joining the network in, Kristin spent nearly a decade working her way up in local TV news stations including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won the Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin founded Field Mouse Films with her expertise behind the camera in the year 2014. The company specialized in creating documentary films for corporate clients such as Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C., with her family, including their 3-year-old daughter.
